The verdict Good: Battery life is the standout, the GPS is very accurate, and it has held up great. Just be prepared for a big watch.

Our Verified Review

Owned and tested by our reviewer, Will

Will wears the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 in Titanium Gray every day for everyday wear, training and leisure, including controlling Spotify from the pool. He pairs it with a Samsung Galaxy S25+. His is the LTE version, but he doesn’t have LTE turned on because of the extra fee. What he likes most is the battery life: when he uses workout mode for about an hour a day, he estimates about 2.5 days per charge, and 4+ days when he isn’t using those features, for example when traveling.

Will says the GPS is very accurate and can tell which side of the road he is running on. Heart rate tracking is generally pretty good: he has seen the spikes other owners mention, but only once over 30 to 40 workouts, and it was an instant spike that didn’t really impact his training data, more a little glitch than a huge problem. Size and weight are good, but it is a big watch, so be prepared for that. He uses the Quick Button to jump to workouts.

It has held up great so far, and he runs it with no screen protector or case, just the watch and band. The obvious fit is for people with a Samsung phone, since he thinks matching the brand provides the most functionality. His verdict: Good.

Andrea also reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Watch9 40mm, a smaller Samsung watch she wears every day; she rated it Good too.

The Good ✅

  • Long Battery Life: What Will likes most: about 2.5 days per charge with an hour of workout mode a day, and 4+ days when he isn’t using those features.
  • Very Accurate GPS: It can tell which side of the road he is running on.
  • Reliable Heart Rate Tracking: Generally pretty good during training; he has seen just one brief spike over 30 to 40 workouts.
  • Holds Up Without Protection: It has held up great with no screen protector or case.
  • Quick Button: Will uses it to jump straight to workouts.

The Not Good ❌

Flaws, but not deal-breakers.

  • Big Watch: Will says size and weight are good, but it is a big watch, so be prepared for that.
  • Rare Heart Rate Spike: He has seen one spike over 30 to 40 workouts. It was an instant glitch that didn’t really impact his training data.
  • Best With a Samsung Phone: Will thinks matching the brand provides the most functionality, so it makes the most sense if you have a Samsung phone.

Specs and maker’s details

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is the second generation of Samsung’s rugged Ultra smartwatch, announced in July 2026. What others think

How our verdict compares with other reviews

Overall reception: Well reviewed. Tom’s Guide calls it one of the longest-lasting full-featured Android smartwatches, and GSMArena was impressed by its battery life.

Where owners agree: Battery life is the headline. Tom’s Guide got closer to 72 hours per charge with the always-on display on, and GSMArena got 96 hours with it off. Both say the case is big, and GSMArena found charging slow at 1.5 to 2 hours.

Where owners disagree: Tracking accuracy. Tom’s Guide found it inflated climb data and called it less reliable for logging workouts than dedicated GPS sports watches. Will, by contrast, finds the GPS accurate enough to tell which side of the road he’s running on.

Our take: Will is on the happy side. He gets about 2.5 days with daily workouts and saw only one brief heart-rate spike in 30 to 40 workouts. He agrees it’s a big watch.
