Our Verified Review

Owned and tested by our reviewer, Andrea

Andrea has had her SIG Sauer P938 Legion for a few years, and she has shot it a few times at the range. In her words, it’s a great carry, and she carries it in her purse.

She loves how simple it is, and it’s easy to carry in a purse or IWB. It’s perfect for smaller hands: the slide is easy to rack, and the safety and trigger are easy to use.

Break-in was easy, and she says it’s worth the price. Her verdict: Good.

What others think

How our verdict compares with other reviews

Overall reception: Generally liked, but more mixed than most SIG pistols we cover. Sportsman’s Warehouse shows 4.1 out of 5 from 82 reviews.

Where owners agree: Owners praise its small size, crisp trigger, sights and accuracy for its size, and many say it’s easy to conceal.

Where owners disagree: Reliability and break-in. Plenty of owners report no problems, while SIG Talk threads describe feeding issues, stiff new magazines, magazine-follower trouble and a two-piece guide rod working loose. Others mention snappy recoil with hot ammo and a premium price.

Our take: Andrea is on the happy side. She found break-in easy and the slide, safety and trigger easy to use with smaller hands, and she says it’s worth the price. She hasn’t shot it as much as heavy-use owners, so she can’t speak to long-term reliability.
